Chobe River Elephants

All I have time for today are these two photos taken on the river yesterday.
These are typical Chobe National Park River scenes, where herds of elephants come down to the water to drink in the late afternoons...
No sunset pictures today, but I assure you there will be plenty on offer next week, when we will be spending some time on a houseboat!
We have a slightly mad weekend coming up, involving a couple of thousand kilometres of driving, just for a change!

For now, chilly, rather frozen weekend greetings to all reading this - from the post-solstice southern hemisphere!

Those of us who only saw elephants in zoos find these pictures stunning and precious. Give us more, please!

We have deer that wander in our area. Not nearly as exciting as elephants.

There are few things I enjoy more than observing animals in their natural habitats.

There with you in spirit, Karen -- it looks like heaven to me.

Do scenes like this ever become common place even though it's the natural habitat for these animals?!

A couple THOUSAND kilometers driving?!! I get sick when I sit in a car for more than three hours! You poor thing. But it`s those vast distances in your country. Here I can reach almost everything by WALKING, haha.

Thanks for joining me on my walks! It`s always nice to chat with you. I think I have lost your bank account. Can you forward it to me again? I will soon write a blog post about our project

These are incredible pictures, what an amazing time you must be having! It reminds me of our safari trip in Kenya for our honeymoon - seeing the elephants at the watering hole was beautiful. Looking forward to seeing more pics and good luck with that long drive!
